If it deters anyone, that's just stupid.

Yes, in some cases it does...it really depends on the question for me. But when some people see that stupid ratings bar below the question they get turned off if it's got several thumbs down on it. It's not a criteria for me, because I have always heard there there is no such thing as a stupid question, the only stupid question is the one that goes unasked.

Just an opinion. Good luck and don't worry some of us can see the question no matter what the thumbs are doing.

No. I actually dont pay attention to the thumbs up or down on a question. I read the question from the Yahoo main page and if i feel I can answer it I will. If I like the question enough then I will rate it myself.

I look at each question for my own interpretation not someone Else's.

Any one else may have a tender spot on what ever subject and give it a thumbs down. How ever it may still be a decent question for the rest to answer.

~~~we all have a different point of view on certain subjects. So just because someone else votes a thumbs down,,if I find the question interesting and think I can answer ,,,,I will answer,,,~~~
Not really. Depends on the question. I may not agree with the "thumbs down" rating.
I usually don't even notice if there is a "thumb's down" at first. But once I read the question, I can tell if it is thumbs-down-worthy or not.
No, sometimes questions mean different things to different people, such as when a question is meant in fun and some take it seriously. Look at any question on religion and you'll see what I mean, you get a very mixed response.
No, I don't believe it does because most people click on a question based on what is being asked -- not it's rating.
