ok i have been nerved off by some questions and posts like so...

question-

How many parents out there are actually purchasing the "bratz dolls" for the under 8 set?
I recently attended a TWO year olds birthday party that was themed around the bratz dolls. This child recieved at least 2 dozen pieces of bratz merchandise and to be honest I thought they were bit sexual for a such a young child. My daughters birthday rolled around and the same couple who threw the bratz party bought my 2 year old a bratz sheet set for her "big girl bed" . The images on the sheets were girls with full blown floozy make up on and teeny tiny hot pants pjs....I disturbs me and I am hoping that these dolls are generaly aimed at older childern (say like 13?) I am just curious as to the trends others have seen and if in fact it is normal for such young children to play with toys like this....thanks!

my 6 year old has several of these dolls, and has been getting them since she was 2. just look for the ones that are just a little less slutty and trashy and they are usually ok.

my opinion-
trashy? grow up! thats the world for you

I am SO thankful to see your question, I thought maybe I was just being mean by not letting her have those ugly things. Those dolls are SO hoochy its disgusting!!!! My husband and I tell my 6 yr old she cant have one because we dont think little girls need to wear makeup that young. It shut her up. I buy her Barbies and she loves those. Thank you thank you thank you for being another concerned parent about these ugly, hoochy, slutty looking dolls. They are the trash of all dolls, no wonder young girls dress the way they do because they dumb things are on the shelf.

my opinion-if your child bases his or her fashion and other choices on toys he is un unique and needs to think for them selves

u_got_mail01-
i have to be frank with you, i do not think ANY 13 year old in the right mind would like a bratz doll i didn't like barbies as it was when i was 5! truly you have to wake up and smell the hot coffee, the world is and has been changing! ive seen bratz sheets and truly the make-up isn't 'floozy' but 'heavy' and it is not trashy, the 'hot pants' well i mean realy there is no such thing as hot pants pjs, and please it is not the 60's wake up please!

terra nerra... like i said before if your kid is 8-up and still sleeps w/ bat=rbies and bratz you have one messup kid!
jennifer w, yea i hope you know that the bratz dollz aren't six or 7 there arpound 13,14-20. yall are realy imature wake up ok! you and the asker are probally old aren't you? the girls today don't dress 'trashy' because of the things on the shelves! i mean when you are 7-up you dress your self (most of the time) and by then, you don't play with dolls!they dress like that because thats there personality!

MY OPINION- GO ME!

terra nerra pannera white bread- dont know what the deal is with those dolls there bad the clothes are usually horrible but you can buy barbie clothes seperate and put less provacative clothes on them but at age to i wouldnt put those sheets on her bed i think it should be an older kid thing I AGREE WITH YOU

my opinion- do i have to say it?

jennifer k-
I hate those dolls - I just saw something on tv for "bratz babies" and I was appalled that these dolls look just as trashy and you know they're aiming towards the toddler crowd.

My plan is to steer my daughter away from those dolls for as long as I can.

MY OPINION -WHATEVER!

I love Bratz....to me it's not how they dress, just watch the movies/listen to the CDs and you might realize they aren't bad at all...the music especially will but you in a good mood. I mean, they have lyrics like:

So you wanna change the world
What are you waiting for?
You say you wanna start right now
What are you waiting for?
It only takes one voice
So come on now and shout it out
Give a little more
What are you waiting for?

My daughter is 8 and loves Bratz dolls. i'm going to admit, before everything, i become skeptical approximately her having a Bratz doll. I unquestionably have experience had a metamorphosis of coronary heart. My daughter and that i are of a blended good. that is hard to locate a doll that has distinctive pores and skin tones and nonetheless comprise each and all of the sturdy products. i'm getting my daughter all styles of dolls yet i admire getting her something that looks like she does (complexion clever). Bratz has 4 significant dolls, all with a distinctive ethnic seem. i admire the flexibility. Granted, Barbie does have her "acquaintances" that are distinctive hues yet have you ever observed the clothing they placed on and their upload-ons. Barbie is the only one allowed to placed on pink, the different ladies have another shade on yet in no way pink. in the journey that your daughter is something like mine, she's long undergone a pink in easy terms degree..... try to come across a black or hispanic Barbie wearing pink! that is going to be damn close to impossible. Bratz is extra approximately woman empowerment. loopy sounding, i be attentive to yet once you watch the sketch (particular there quite is one) the girls are magazine editors and are all approximately status up for his or her acquaintances. that is quite cute, as quickly as you recover from the undeniable fact which you're staring at a Bratz sketch... ;-) Its all approximately evaluations and what you experience delicate with what your daughter is uncovered too. Bratz could be doing something suitable or Mattel does no longer have come out w/ the My Scene Barbie's, that seem lots like Bratz. I do agree w/ you and different Answerers that the clothing could have extra cloth. yet my daughter takes all of them off besides, so I figured it that is not suitable that lots, besides!

seriously my question got you angry? Why? I think you are confusing my question (are parents really buying toys like this for children who are still in diapers) and my hope that the dolls were not what I thought, perhaps more of a collectible thing for older children. I did not mean to imply that 13 year olds still "play with dollies" but that maybe my incident with one family was isolated.

I heartily agree with you. I think the dolls are to sexualized to be marketed at all. Exactly what principals and morals is this company trying to convey to children through these Dolls? I see the same trend happening in clothing. Gap got in trouble for marketing thongs to 6 year olds. (They were sued last year). Shirts are now made out of see through material, pants have saying on them like "hottie, Sexy, Sweety, etc". Its a pedophiles dream!! I actually walked through the mall the other day and saw shirts marketed to the 10+ age group that said "I recycle boyfriends" and "Dont interupt me while I'm drinking". Seriously? The best thing to do is raise your child differently and throw the sheets away. I think its deplorable to use the Bratz dolls as toys for children. The message we are sending is: "Use your body to achieve approval and status"

13 year old girls do not play with dolls, and haven't for at least 20 years, but I agree, those dolls are not meant for 2 year olds. More like the 9 year old kids, though, I'm afraid even THEY'VE been pushed into adult things as well. Nobody wants kids to be kids any more. Thanks Mattel. you just had to give us Barbie!

To be honest how else do you think your kids are going to dress. It may not be floozy like but it definitely probably won't be skirts that touch the ground or something. 13 year olds do not play with dolls anyway. I stopped playing with them at 7. It isn't even trashy they just have big features on their visage and is applied with dark make-up and I don't think color has the luxury of defining 'trashiness'.
