You should wait till you have a period before practicing with tampons. But here are the intructions anyways for the future.

Relax! Try not to worry about inserting the tampon right the first time. If you are tense it will make insertion harder.
The best time to practice inserting a tampon is during the heavy part of your period. The tampon should glide inside your vagina easily without any discomfort.
Decide if you prefer to insert the tampon standing or sitting. If sitting is your preference, sit on the toilet. If you want to try standing, putting one foot on the bathtub helps.
Hold the tampon applicator in your right hand if you are right-handed, or left if left-handed.
Use your thumb and middle finger to hold the bottom of the larger, outer tube.
Point the tip of the applicator toward your vagina, facing slightly towards the back. The smaller tube should be pointed away from your body.
Use your other hand to open your vagina.
Place the tip of the applicator at the opening of your vagina.
Gently push the smaller end of the applicator in until it is completely inside the larger outer tube. This pushes the tampon into your vagina and out of the tube.
With your thumb and middle finger still on the outer tube, release the smaller tube and let the strings dangle freely.
Gently pull the two tubes out together.
Dispose of the applicator according to the manufactuer's instructions.
When you are ready to remove the tampon, gently pull the withdrawl strings down and forward. The used tampon may be flushed down the toilet.
Tips:
Lubricating the rounded end of the tampon with a water-based lubricant such as K-Y Jelly can make insertion easier the first few times. Don't use petroleum jelly.
Always read the manufactuer's instructions throughly before using any type of tampon.
If the tampon feels uncomfortable it is probably not inserted far enough into your vagina. Try again with a new tampon.

Definitely do not practice inserting a tampon before you start your period. You risk infection if you do. Just wait for nature to take it's course. If you choose to use tampons, read the directions on the package and follow them. You shouldn't have any problems.

You should not insert a tampon ever unless your period is already flowing. Inserting a tampon when you are "dry" can cause rash and any number of infections, including yeast infections. It may take a few tries when you do get your period but it's not that hard.

Follow the instructions on the pamphlet & you will get the hang of it fairly quickly.

properly sweetie, you could not insert a moist tampon as they swell whilst they get moist. they'll swell interior you're physique as they take up the blood. yet you could insert a dry one to test. that may not harm something. you could bypass away it in for awhile to make certain the way it feels. make certain the way you're maximum mushy first. Get into the placement it is easiest so you might gain down there. that ought to be sitting on the bathroom or propping one leg on the area of the tub or purely style of squatting down. maximum tampons come interior a casing so as which you will insert them.. Tampax tampons have a cardboard casing that's horribly uncomfortable so stay faraway from those. i think of all the Playtex tampons have plastic applicators and those are slick so as that they are much less confusing to insert. i admire OB tampons which don't have an applicator. you purely unwrap them and make a sprint indent on your finger and then insert. They in no way leak, they are the best. yet i think of to initiate out you need to use the applicator. you do not prefer any "deodorized" or "baking soda" or the different kooky style. purely the easy jane will do. And constantly have a pair of spares on your handbag or your locker for those emergency circumstances. that could be a solid theory to mark your cycle on your calendar each and each month so which you recognize precisely whilst to anticipate your era. besides, you will desire to make valuable the string remains putting down once you insert the tampon (so which you will rather do away with it), which would be ordinary with those interior the applicators. it is easily it. you will get used to it, have faith me! you could anticipate a favourite tampon to final from a million to 2 hours---yet that relies upon on how heavy your flow is. whilst i grow to be youthful my flow grow to be incredibly heavy. Too heavy in actuality for wearing a tampon to mattress. Pads are the fee ticket for mattress and make certain you get those with wings! I desire you fulfillment which incorporate your first era and that i desire for you which you would be cramp loose and not have PMS. bypass purchase your tampons and study the enclosed training and risk-free practices information, do your practising, and you would be waiting.

No you do not need to practice. Just wait until you get yours. Use pads until you think you are ready to move on to tampons. Just follow the directions that come in the box, you don't need to ask your mom anything. I never asked I just followed the directions. Just remember that when you do use one that you should not feel it at all. Good Luck!

No don't! If you practice when your not on your period you will be much drier and it will be much harder to insert...and especially hard to take it out. As I recall it was hard to take out when I started using them anyway. Get the really thin kind and just know it takes time to get used to. Eventually you won't even notice it!

well i would practice now just for the simple reason that tampons can leave cotton behind especially when tkain out and still dry. when its wet is not that bad. some gurls put it in b4 they get thir period but i wouldnt do it. its very easy tho u just have to relax ur muscles. it say it all on the instruction inside the box.

no just wait until you get your period..if you insert the tampon and you dont have your period when you go to take it out it might hurt since it is dry. so just wait.

It might be kinda difficult to do it because of the friction. If your period starts light, you could practice then.
