I created my very own wallpaper border for my new house and my friend said I should patent it. How do I do this??

Contact the U.S. Patent Office. You can find their number and address on line. I am not sure if it is patentable either. But if you had a business you could put your company logo on it. . What would be the point though unless you plan on going into business trying to sell Wallpaper designs. You would certainly need more than one design then. lol Again, what is the point? Is the world going to be coming into your home and stealing this design once they see it? lol

You don't. First of all you can't patent a Design. I'm not even sure you could copyright it. Trademark it yes, if used in your Logo, but that's about it.

She was simply paying you a compliment, not telling you to go into business.

i think your supposed to write a letter to washington and ask for one. but i also heard that i dont know if this applys for wall paper, but if you mail a portion to yourself, and get the postmark which is a federal thing with the date.... then if you see anwhere else with the same idea you can sue.and argue that you created it at whatever date.
