Lack of freon is one cause the other is clogged filter.

There are a few problems that can occure. First is air flow, that can be from a bad blower motor to a stopped up coil or filter. Second is a restriction in the refrigeration system (ex. bad TXV or a stopped up piston.) Third low on freon. But remember if your system is low on freon you have a freon leak.

Your unit is low an Freon. Get a licensed A/C Tech out to re-charge the system and check for leaks.

if your indoor coils freeze up there are two main possibilities. #1 your unit is undercharged (low on freon) #2 the return air flow is being blocked (furniture blocking vent, VERY dirty filter etc)

You have low air flow. Check filters and vents to make sure they are open and blowing good.
