PCOS doesn't cause false negatives on pregnancy tests. Pregnancy tests work by detecting human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which your body only produces when there's a fertilized egg in your uterus. PCOS doesn't interfere with hCG production or do anything else that could cause a bad result on a pregnancy test. However, the pregnancy test itself could give a false reading (not caused by PCOS). So if you think you're pregnant, you should ask your doctor to do a test.
PCOS can, however, cause an ovulation predictor kit to give false readings. This is because some women with PCOS have elevated luteinizing hormone (LH) and some ovulation detection kits work by measuring LH levels. So if you're using an ovulation prediction kit to try to get pregnant, it may not work correctly. PCOS doesn't interfere with HPT's, though.

I have PCOS, but it's borderline. I also have endometriosis. I never got a false positive test because of it. Are you taking any medication to control your PCOS? I was on Metformin for almost a year and it helped me ovulate more regularly than I ever did. (Side effects weren't pleasant, but I think it still had a hand in me getting pregnant.) I was diagnosed at the beginning of last year. I've only gotten 1 positive result in my whole entire life and I'm now 5 months pregnant. :)
Good luck!

I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrom. It can make it hard for you to get pregnant. It messes with your insulin and hormones and can make your eggs hard. They can still be good but you may have to have ICSI. Dont remember what it stands for but it is when the doctor takes a sperm and actually uses a needle to put it inside your egg. It is part of InVitro.

Get your PCOS treatment in India .IVF treatment, IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges all types of medical treatment and surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for American and Canadian patients, as some of the surgery including ivf treatment is not covered by insurance.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your treatment and surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The doctors are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star. I recently also read about a Chinese couple facilitated by forerunners healthcare were able to get their baby by IVF and a surrogate mother.
My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the forerunners healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full treatment for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.I strongly recommend this company to you as they can be of great help to you. Hope this helps.
