That guy is a character. They should be proud of him! Maybe they are a serious people with no fun side? They need to join the rest of us for a good laugh regardless of the country of origin. Having been to Khazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turknmenistan and Tajikistan - i can say with a lot of honesty there is no-one like him. It is just a bad sterotype - maybe you would be less pleased with, say, a khazakh giving the impression that all US are White supremist, Deliverance style inbred Hillbilly , redneck, muslim haters? Y'all may get a tad annoyed but boy would the ratings in Almaty be high!

Because they want to promote their country abroad, not have people thinking that Borat is a typical Kazakh. You can't blame them really - you wouldn't want to visit Kazakhstan if you thought they were all like him.
