there are more risks when a woman delivers by C-sect. scaring, externally and internally, improper healing, infection, and recovery time is longer the best thing to do is wait and see. When you decide to have babies you might feel differently about giving birth the natural way.

Well, i've read that first time woman that are pregnant that choose to have their labor enduced are more at risk to have a C-section. I had my labor enduced and they gave me pain medicine dillotid*sp?* and it stopped my contratcions. The plus side of having a C-section is that you don't have the pains "down there" and don't have to deal with the trama of all that...lol..but you do pay for it a lot longer. If there are complications and they have to do an emergency C-section..they cut you up and down..*not pretty* especially if you are over weight. Either way if they cut you up and down or on your bikini line..you still have the trama of a major surgery..blood loss, and alwasy the risk of complications.Hope that helps!

Most doctors will only order a C-section for certain circumstances. I have had two C-sections and did not heal correctly after my second one. Four years later, I had several surgeries to correct the damage. In retrospect, I wish that I would have been able to have a vaginal birth for both my children. My advice, try vaginal and ask for lots of pain medication. You will feel better sooner after the birth and could avoid medical complications in the future.

You can ask, but any responsible obstatrician would not consider it unless it is medically necessary. With modern medicine, you do not have to endure long labour, an anaesthetist can perform an epidural and you won't feel a thing.

this is becoming more and more common. many doctors do not agree with the practice and will not do it but many others will. when you are pregnant and want to deliver by c/s be sure your doctor is one who will agree to it, you will likely have no problem finding one in most areas.

I've heard that there's a link between infant death and elective c-section.
