Sand it down to the wood finish to get rid of the marks. Then set a wet towel over the spot and apply a clothes iron. It will swell the wood and then sand to flat. After it dries, apply a polyurethane finish to match and you wont be able to tell the difference.

In the past I have had success with rubbing the mark with the cut side of a brazil nut. Seems to have some sort of oil that does the trick.
You could also paint it out with a brown marker pen.

you can try using metal polish I know it works on wood so should work . You have to polish it properly afterwards!
