i have to drives c&d but i want to know whats on my drive d (hp recovery) cause the free available space on int s really low and i want to delete some files but when i open it a window opens and said recovery partition? how can i free more space on this drive

This was a subject of a law suite against HP. They used the hard drive for your recovery disc by partitioning it. You can get a Cd recovery disc from them if you request one and pay for postage and handling. That was the settlement. As far as more room, add a new hard drive as a slave, that's the easiest way. The only way to remove the partition is to format the entire drive and re-install Win XP, unfortunatly you'll lose ALL of your settings, programs and data if you decide to do that.

If your D drive contains your recovery files, you really don't want to delete anything on there. For more space, my recommendation is to shop for a good external hard drive with a USB connection (assuming your present pc has a free USB port). Good luck.
