Im a student at U of milwaukee and i threw a kegger which got busted friday. Because there were more than 50 people at this party, (86 and we were just getting started) and i was "accepting donations" they took the kegs, the money, and they left me with a noise violation ($234) and distributing alcohol w/o licence ($997). Has anyone else fought this, or know how to fight, and what were the results.... i really need to know

First of all, as any intelligent person would know, you were not "accepting donations." To be truthful with you, you were distributed alcohol without a licence. I cannot really think of a way that you can avoid paying the penalty for your mistake if that is your question. My suggestion, have your 86 friends provide some more "donations" to help you hire a lawyer or pay the fine and move on. There may also be other ways for you to repay your debt to society, like community service and probation.

I would say to go to court and be honest about what happened, say your sorry and it won't happen again. Every judge who is competent, especially in a college town, knows exactly what was going on and will likely see through any lie or deception. You will be more likely to recieve a more favorable punishment than if you lie to the judge and insult thier intelligence.

because you have been walking I doubt that implied consent comes into play, i've got self belief that implied consent applies for suspected DUI or DUAI in trouble-free terms (utilising offenses). i could be incorrect, yet I doubt it. What could the officer have on you? You have been in the area of a occasion the place underage drinkers have been being served. walking (in step with risk somewhat unsteady on your feet), and useful had the scent of alcohol on your breath. The officer will testify as to what he noted earlier he ticketed you. no one is conscious if that testimony would be adequate to convict you.

Why do you think you can get out of the ticket? You just wrote a confession that you were doing exactly what they charged you with.

get a lawyer, he will get the fine lessened to community service, most likely if this was your first offense. BUT if there were underage there you are pretty much screwed unless you are quit rich. good luck...

I think you're screwed, my friend. I grew up in Milwaukee, and those cops are pretty tough.
