It doesn't matter, there's a 50-50 chance it won't last anyway.

I would say a week definitely is too soon, a month yeah...a year, that's fine. My parents only dated 3 months before becoming engaged and were married 5 months later. Still together nearly 33 years later.

I got married after 3 months and got divorced at 2 years. Now, I am remarried and we dated for 3 years before getting married. I'd say the first was too short the second was too long. Don't get married if you have ANY doubts.

You can never put a time limit on when you should get married, I would say you need to get to know the person. Inside and out. Make sure your goals are the same. Make sure your morals and values are the same. Make sure you talk about kids, religion, finances, where your going to live. What you both expect from each other. The list can go on. Just take your time don't ever rush. It will be worth the wait!

If you are sure that you know all you need to know to decide something so big...it's long enough. If you haven't taken the time to think things like that through...it's too soon. I married my ex after dating for 3 years...divorced in a year. I met and married my current husband within a year....13 years later we are still strong. So you only know if you take the time to really think things through.

i think a week/month is to soon to get married. Your just getting to know the person. Always find out everything about the person before you decide to marry him or her.

It depends. It really does. There's no set time limit.

But you need to allow enough time to get to know one another.

My husband and I moved in 3 days after our first date, and he told me he loved me a few weeks later. We didn't make love until some time had passed after that, either. were engaged after 7 months of dating, and married 3 months after that. (No, we weren't pregnant.)

It's 5 years later now, and there's been some tough times. Basically just getting to know each other. What is making it work for us though is that we're good at communicating our needs and concerns to one another, so we're able to work through what issues we may have.

In hindsight, sure, it may have been better to wait and get to know one another better, but I don't regret it at all. We are happy, and I love him more now than I did when we got married. He is great.

Just make sure you're honest with the other person. Make sure you're being yourself, so you can truly get to know one another.

I was engaged 6months after we started dating, and it will a month shy of three years when we get married in August, but we had educational and career goals we wanted to achieve first. We probably would have gotten married sooner if it werent for that.

If either one of you is unsure about the huge commitment called marriage (even the slightest bit) it is too soon. There is no specific time when it is no longer too soon. As soon as both people are ready to spend the rest of their lives with the other and know they were meant to be...it is time :-)

I worked with a woman who was celebrating her 60th wedding anniversary. She and her husband married after one week of dating.

I have a friend who lived with her SO (didn't marry) for about 15 years. They are not a couple any longer.

Weigh your options and listen to your inner voice.
