Obviously your best friend fancies this guy, but for whatever reason did not want to tell you this. Maybe the guy is not interested in her,but in you. If you want to keep your friend I would sit her down and ask up front what the problem is. Express your dismay at her reaction and state that you would like to know why she is upset, when you dated the guy at her suggestion. I think you need to be prepared to ditch the guy if you want to keep your friend. Maybe ask her to tell you in future if she is interested in a guy before you date them, then you will have to make the decision as to how much you like the guy as to whether you want to risk your friendship. But be careful as if she does this every time you date someone then it is just unreasonable jealousy and I think you should reconsider the friendship.

That probably means that she was secretly attracted to the guy. She was probably trying to deny her feelings and one of the ways of doing this is to fix him up with someone else. But when she did that, then she wasn't happy b/c she still liked the guy.
I would probably ask her why she is angry when she is the one that fixed you up. And ask her does she have feelings for this guy, but perhaps she was confused about that? And if so, maybe you could just not see that guy anymore b/c your friendship is worth more than a date, right? If you don't think your friendship outweighs the chance you have with this guy, then you have to let the friendship go. It is all up to you, but most important is to *talk* with your friend. OK, here's what I think. I think she likes this guy. As strange as it might sound, she told you to go out with him so that you could scope him out. I think she's mad because the date probably went well for you. What do yo think?

Tell her that she told you to, so you did. Tell her you're confused at her response. Tell her you trust her to tell you the truth. She either has to admit to being a liar or has to agree with your assessment of the situation.
