you only need to catch, evolve, mate everything in the game.
the ones you can't catch, you'll need to trade from ruby or sapphire.
with fire/leaf and colleseum/XD, you can [naturally] obtain 378
through events held by Nintendo, you can get up to 386 - Toys R Us is having an event on saturday september 30, where they are giving away mew from 12pm to 3pm.
in ruby/sapphire/emerald, you will need to have beaten the elite four
in fire/leaf you will need to have beaten the elite four and completed the ruby/sapphire quest in the number islands

go around and catch any pokemon that u run into and youll eventually catch 200.
