Please, these questions really are getting old. We've already been asked that same question for a very long time. Yes, people are tired of answering it, I guess you just haven't been reading clearly.
Italy definitely deserved to win, because:
a) they were stronger (had more talented players)
b) they actually worked as a team
c) they played fairly, excluding the headbutt incident, but even then, Materazzi shouldn't have accepted all of the blame
and, last but not least,
d) for heaven's sakes, any team deserves to win when they have a higher score than their opponent!

England screwed themselves.
I would say France deserved to win but Zidane's behavior kinda took care of that.
So either Italy or Argentina. Argentina had a very strong team, but Italy played very carefully and strategically, as they always do.

Who deserves to win? It's a great question. Of course a lot of people would want their favourite team to win.
Me, I think German deserved to win. The German team showed a lot of team work and played fairly during all their matches. The german players were not rude or somewhat cheaters because they trained really hard for the game that meant everything to them.
The German team are consist of skillful and great players. Such as Miroslav Klose who gave German 5 goals and won the golden shoe, or Lukas Podolski who amazed the crowd by winning the best young player award. Jens Lehman also showed us what he can do by saving 2 penalty during the game against Argentina.
I personally think that Italy did not deserve to win and believe the games were rigged! there is no way that the italians could have beaten Australia if it wasn't for the foul called by the refree at 90 minutes.
France also derserved to win as it would have completed Zidane's football career with a Happy ending!

the best team won it . Italy deserved it . even the penalty by Zidane wasn't fair ask any expert so in fact the french couldn't pass the Italian defense.

First of all, England had no chance of winning it anyways. And secondly, France should have won. If it wasnt for Materrazzi talking about people's moms and sisters, then France would have been holding that cup. Poor Italians, their image of integrity will forever be tainted by this man's actions.
