They're not cities, in and of themselves. They're buroughs of New York City.

citys, towns and anyother settlement are there for a reason! more often then not there people dont start large citys up just because they like the view!

they are started because there is somthing there to draw people to it! for an exaple a port! it brings in trade, food a living! or like many towns in the US for mining be it gold or coal. or for the good fram land where a market might have started and people have moved into to trade and stuff!

but there the place your o nabout i have no idea! but i hope i help give you an idea of some of the driving force that might have pulled people to the area to live!

so that you would ask why, but I'm sure you'd still be asking even if they were built in Hawaii or Alaska. but why stop there? wouldn't you rather know why the Earth is round? or why they dont offer DSL in my area so now I'm stuck with dial-up! Dial-UP should be like a cuss word or something! yeah, I know I'm allota help...
