It depends on the technology. Communication technology lets us see and hear more things around us quickly, yet we spend more time with them. This site is a good example. :)
Those annoying cell phones allow us more communication, but people take advantage of that by using their cell phone more. Cell phones are also detrimental to social etiquette,
However, other technologies such as medical technologies are time savers for doctors & surgeons and we all benefit from it.

Like paying bills online? You have to type in the web address, wait for the page, type in your passwords, wait some more, type some more. All that just to save on postage. Yes sometimes technology does take longer than doing it the old fashioned way.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello, automated phone systems. It takes forever to get through all the menus and crap. Half the time there is no option for what you are looking for. So, when you do get through to a human person, you end up being transferred because you picked to wrong number in the menu. Or the ones where you have to talk to the computer and she asks you to repeat yourself a hundred times because it can't pick up what your saying. All this trouble for what? If there was a human being on the phone that alone cuts your phone call by 10 minutes just in the introduction of the call.

depends on how it is used and for what purpose. Technology may not always be the ideal solution to a problem.
