Is a lot better to get a 2001.5 s4 vs a 2001? I heard the turbos are different and maybe more reliable?
I don't know much about audis and turbos, been a BMW guy most of my life.

Different ECU (M vs. H for a manual)
No FHose in the 2001.5
Different Oil Inlet lines for the Turbos in 2001.5
Different Shifter stalk in the 2001.5, and they also have different badges on the 2001.5, I would go either way if you are going to get one, not too much difference!

Get the S4 turbo if you can, and about the reliability you don't have to worry about that because it's equal to a mercedes

the 01.5 have better turbos, the 00 and 01s have turbo faleure a little more often, and no the 06 rs4s are not way better, this is one of the most tuneable cars out there, they can be very fast.

If you get a 2.7 bi-turbo, just be sure you have a cast iron warranty with it. To change a turb you have to take the engine out! It can be VERY expensive.
The cars can be chipped to over 300BHP and if you put RS4 turbos on can be tuned to over 500BHP!
