I don't really think there is a hottest or cooler anime. There are really popular ones, but as far as hottest/coolest goes, it's all a matter of opinion. I personally like Cardcaptor Sakura, Tsubasa, Tokyo Mew Mew, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Sailor Moon, Samurai Deeper Kyo...Actually, I personally like a WHOLE lot of animes. But could I pick through any of them and point out the Hottest or Coolest? I don't think I can. Like I said, it's all a matter of opinion and who's watching what. There's a difference between being popular and being hot/cool.

Well...I could tell you which one is coolest IMO but it wouldn't be the "hottest"
Cool = Last Exile, FMA, Samurai Champloo, Samurai X OVAs, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Trigun, Ninja Scroll.....gee there really are alot, it just depends on your definition of "cool". Those are my cool picks if cool means action. :D I could tell you more but it would be kinda pointless to w/o knowing what kind of anime you've enjoyed before...personally I like the more girly stuff like Kare Kano & kiddy stuff like Totoro, but I enjoy all kinds, except those with excessive giant boobs or panties in your face all the time (it just makes it kinda hard to find anything of substance beyond that, meaning it all gets kinda boring after a while)
Watch whatever anime catches your eye. Or you could do some research on the ones that look cool so it's not so hit or miss. Check your local library, it's a great place to check out anime w/o laying out any money. ;) I have Planetes 1 on hold, can't wait to see if it's as cool as I think & then I'll feel better about spending whatever when the complete box set comes out. :D

OK My answer is based on others and my own personal favorites. I like Naruto,Inuyasha,and fruits basket. Most are action and comedy. I also like dears.It,s about a "defective" alien that the main character,Takeya finds in a park.He teaches her how to talk and everything. If you crave action,romance,fairy tales,secrets, and the shady yet pretty lover you want CERES!!!!!It's just too complicated to explain in a simple 10 word summery.Look for the Author Yuu Watase .She has some pretty good series.^-^

hmm.. well i personally really like naruto if ur into action and fighitng and mystery.. but i wasnt a big fan of action, but naruto is deeper than that, so i think ull enjoy it
if ur into romance and tragic endings, id say fruits basket cuz the drawings are soo cute and it has a really great story line, except i would advise you to read the comic book not the anime cuz anime sucks for fruits basket
but the anime for naruto is good
u can also watch dragon ball, its really cool
or cowboy beebop
or onepiece

Robotech, Bubble Gum Crisis, Riding Bean, Appleseed, Tank Police, Patlabor, Evangeloin, Vampire Hunter D....theres a whole slew of them. But, it also depends on your definition of cool.

Inuyasha and Fullmetal Alchemist are by far the best i have seen. Vision of Escaflowne and Dragonball Z are good too.

Full Metal Alchemist was rated the "BEST ANIME IN JAPAN" i saw it and it really cool, it too bad that its only like 55 episode but it reall cool also Samurai Champloo, Naruto and the one I'm watching right now is Bleach. . . . they all cool .. . i also liked Eureka 7 and Ghost in the Shell . . . .
