First take an english class. The question should be, "What does it take to become a member of congress"? You have to get elected to either the house of represenitatives or the senate, and make a lot of promises you will never keep.

Well aside from the comment above, which may or may not be accurate, it depends upon which house you want to be in--there is an age requirement. For the House the US Constitution Article I, Section II States:"No person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the age of twenty five years, and been seven years a citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an inhabitant of that state in which he shall be chosen. "
For the Senate: the US Cosntitution, Article I, Section III states:" No person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the age of thirty years, and been nine years a citizen of the United States and who shall not, when elected, be an inhabitant of that state for which he shall be chosen. "
Assuming you meet these requirements then you gotta get elected and that's where the comments above come in....
