I was raised Catholic and Baptist. And I grew up in a very religious home when I turned into a teenager all of these tramtic things started to happen to me. I think that God has abandoned me and doesn't like me, if he truely exsist why didn't he save me that day? p[art of me wants to get away from my minster family and a nother part of me wants to wear my cross and recite the "Lord's Prayer" I was wearing my rosery the other day and this girl yanked it off and said "this doesn't belong to heathens and whores of the devil" I slapped the girl and got in trouble at school. That Rosery was very special to me, it was from my grandmothers and she gave it to me when I was born. It had red beads and it had a golden cross with red rubies in it. My mom put it back together and fixed it for me.

You have every right to wear a cross. No religion has an exclusive right to the cross symbol, and you have a right to your beliefs and your doubts! That girl is mean and immature. She used "fighting words" and although you shouldn't have slapped her, she had it coming!

If it won't turn you into a "rat", I think you should have your mom call the teacher, or even the principal, to tell them there's a small "religious war" going on in your class. When I was in 3rd grade some kids beat me up on the playground because I was wearing a medal. They were Southern Baptist, and I was Catholic. The principal took my Dad's complaint seriously and a couple of weeks later, we had a school assembly that talked about the need for religious tolerance. Anyway, such a solution might not work because you all are not in the third grade for one thing, but on second thought, maybe the other girl would benefit --HER mentality is stuck in 3rd grade, maybe even 2nd.

I know how people like this turn out as adults. Righteous creeps, and usually rather immoral themselves. They think they're "saved" and can sin all they want while judging others. At the very least, I hope you can avoid this mean and narrow minded girl.

P.S. You got some very good advice from answerers below, but everything does NOT happen for a reason.

God doesn't abandon anyone; you only feel that way because People had a higher influence on your life. God is a loving God. In my opinion, even if you are an agnostic, you can wear the cross, but you must understand its meaning about the past, your present, and the future. That cross remebles Christ pierced to the Cross or a "staros" and how he had died in advance for all of our sins. Everyone including non believers. He shed blood for us, and asked God to "forgive them for they know not what they do".

So when you wear that cross, wear it in understanding and compassion. Wear it in the hopes for your joy and peace in Christ.

You can't assume that just because things aren't going well for you that God has forgotten you or isn't there. If everything went perfectly for us 100% of the time and we never had any sadness or tragedy in our lives, then there would really be no way to test faith. We are all given our crosses to bear in life, some far more than others (as I know fully well myself) and if you keep your faith throughout and never give up on God you will be greatly rewarded in the next life.

Everything happens for a reason. People often get angry with God when something bad happens. They ask why? They are not patient, they don't wait for the answers. Why aren't people patient with God as he is with us? Why won't people listen to God as he listens to us?

I had no religion growing up. I was never taught any religion. I have learned by being patient and listening. It is hard when something bad happens. But I know that everything happens for a reason.

When I feel like God is not with me, I tell God, its okay. Someone needs you more than me.

Like your Mom, our Father in Heaven can put it back together for you! His promise to us is not that nothing bad will ever happen to us but that when bad things happen He will hold us if we just turn to him. I have had many traumatic things happen (including losing a child) and I didn't know where to turn, but now I do!
He has reached out to you and He is still there. Turn around and start walking the path back to God. All it takes is a simple prayer accepting that Jesus died for your sins and asking for forgiveness for your indiscretions.
God Bless you and I will pray for you!

Ohmigosh. For that girl to do that makees her the heathen. You have every right to wear it. It is yours and was your grandmothers. It can help you in time when you stray. God has NOT abandoned you, you just need to rely on him to see you through this. One day you'll look back and say, "OOh, that's why God put me through that." Keep wearing your cross and keep saying the prayer. I will pray for you. God bless.

I don't know why an agnostic would want to wear a cross. But it doesn't really sound to me like you're an agnostic. You might feel that God abandoned you, but remember Jesus promised to Never leave us or forsake us. Maybe you need to find a new church that is alive. God loves you. Don't ever doubt that.

What she did is VERY wrong. Regardless of your walk with the Lord that is your choice to wear what you want. You are obviously in a confused state about where your heart wants to be, and I beg you to not let her actions sway you from a relationship with God. Continue to think about this, and realize that you are loved.....and it has nothing to do with jewelry.

nicely, that's no longer precise or incorrect. :) i'm a Christian and that i do not even personal one, phooey! If I were to positioned on one, that's for safe practices. to boot, donning a pass is surely because of Jesus Christ demise on the pass, no longer about believing in God. you do not see Muslims or Jews donning pass necklaces, lol. :)

Questioning faith is part of maturing. As for that other girl, remember the old one about casting the first stone. Sounds like she has some real issues. Don't lower yourself to her ignorant level.

Kudos to your mom for fixing your rosary.
