Ceramic Tile. Granite when wet is like ice covered in oil.

Granite comes in a wide variety of colors and textures. It is a hard and durable stone which requires little maintenance and can be used for your bathroom floor projects. Granite is an ideal flooring product for high-traffic areas such as your bathroom and kitchen because it is stain and scratch resistant. It will maintain its original appearance for long years. Adding granite to your bathroom floor is an excellent upgrade that will add value to any home. Just go with a texture that won't be slippery when wet.

Go with stone. It tends to be less slippery, but make sure they give you real smooth cuts. Make sure you get the best custom tile guy you can get. It is worth the extra money.

I am a Realtor and a lot of people are using tumbled marble...it's more of a rough texture than granite...elegant but practical.

I prefer wood, it's beautiful and now resist to water!! It's more economic than granite, and it's non-slip.

porcelain as bryce said. you can get porcelain that mimics stone. ask about slip resistance. it is a rating that the tile industry uses. if you ask in the store, not home depot or lowe's please, they will know what you are talking about.

if you still want stone, more expensive, then look at slate or tumbled marble.
