I am just curious how long that amount of money would last if I didn't blow it all, and spent it wisely.

Dear friend, that amount of money will be enough to buy yourself a nice house and live comfortably for many years....
A very nice house with 3 to 4 bedrooms and at least 3 bathrooms will cost aproximately 80 to 100 thousand dollars and this is in La Molina, Miraflores, San Isidro and San Borja area...
With a budget of $1,000 a month will give you a very nice life style... a maid is only about $100 a month...
I just came back and I was surprise how cheap it is to spend in dollars.. One drawback tough, the crime rate (like breaking into the house) is high.
One advise only... if you are going to buy a property don't do it Lima... the air is really unhealty (worse than Los Angeles)... go to the provinces like either south or north of Lima... there are beautifull beaches and lots of open spaces....
Good luck if you are moving there is a beautifull country....

I have moved to Peru from England and yes $300K is more than enough to live here in style.
For example with that money you could buy a grand house in an exclusive part of the city and a flat in the town.

You can live very well (maintaining the house etc) on less than $2000 per month.

Contact me if you ever consider it!!!!

I think you would live comfortable with that amount of money. Did you know that 1 dollar makes 3.20 soles in Peru?
Most americans feel like in heaven in Peru because of that. For them everything is very cheap.
Your house would be like a mansion AND you would still have enough money to spare. Cool, eh?

You could buy a nice house and have a high but reasonable standard of living for at least 10 years on that much money. Particularly if you don't live in high-cost areas in Lima but move outside to somewhere beautiful like Arequipa.

Depends on how long you are going to live.
I really like Miraflores and san isidro, especially in the winter when it is cloudy and about 60 degrees all winter. I know wonderful Peruvian people. Except for maybe Venezuela Peruvians are the best thieves in Latin America. When you enter Peru be extra cautious

More than enough!
Lima's crime rates are a bit high, visit other towns like Arequipa before you buy.
