don't worry, like everyone else has said, go for the drugs! i was in labor for 23 hrs (they finally gave me something to make my contractions continue, they would come strong for about an hour then quit!).baby only weighed 6-15 but doctor predicted i would have a big baby. he is very healthy though. doctors can't tell exactly how big your bundle of joy is going to be, that is only an educated guess. my mother is only 5-2 and she had me without drugs, i was 10-13 so if she could do it without drugs i'm sure you'll be ok. my brother only weighed 7 and she said he hurt more than i did so i guess it just depends on the situation. don't worry about listening to the doctor to tell you to push. your body automatically does is when it's time, you will be very surprised what that body of yours can do and i'm sure you'll be pleased with the perfect baby it was able to make. good luck Boy or girl?

I am only 5 3 and my daughter was 8 lbs 8 oz and 21 in long at 39 weeks. You will be fine. Our bodies are made for this. Just remember that. No reason to be scared, it is over before you know it and you are holding a precious baby in your arms. Enjoy it, hun, and congratulations.

God bless you and your new baby. Don't worry, you will do fine. My water broke at 37 weeks, I went through 12 hours of natural labor then had an emergency c-section, and EVERYTHING went fine. doctors are professional and there is nothing they can't handle. You too, this is what God created our bodies to do. Stay calm, breathe and concentrate on the anticipation of hearing your baby cry for the first time, because there is no other sweeter sound in the world.

Honey you are lucky? You will do fine just do what the nurses and doctors tell you. Push when they say push. The worse thing that could happen is that you tear and that can be painful. Your body can handle a baby of that size just be prepared for the rode ahead. Good luck, I am 36 weeks and I wish my doctor would induce me.

I am tall but I have a very small pelvis and small hips. I gave birth to 10 lb 13 oz and a 10 lb 12 oz. It all hurts the same. You will survive and you will forget the pain so quickly. I will pray and good luck. Big babies are generally healthier and much cuter so no worries!!!!!

I, too am 38 weeks, and have a big baby coming...I am going straight for the c section scheduled for Oct 5th, though...I was induced with my 1st and didn't progress past 3cm after 24 hrs labor. But each induction for each woman is different, so I am sure you both will be fine.
"Hail Mary, full of Grace, The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among woman and Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, Amen."
