The density of water is 1.0g/mL. How many deciliters of water will fill a 0.5-L bottle?

The density of water is extraneous in this problem.....we don't need to know it.

All you need to solve this question is to know how many deciliters there are in 1 Liter.
The "deci" prefix means 1 E-1,
so 1 dL = 1 E-1 Liter,.
there are 10 dL in 1 Liter.

So in .5 Liters, there are 5 dL.

0.5 L = 5 deciliters

you might want to check the question because the answer is .5L or 5 deciliters. it you need grams then is 500
