Nothing but freaks hide behind the banner of "toleration". I am sick and tired of tolerating the sickos out there. Does anyone else have the same feeling about tolerance and its mis-applications?

I agree.

There are certain issues where there is no need to hear the dissenting side. The problem is that the media in an effort to appear unbiased will dredge up the lamest, weirdest person with an opinion that goes against any shread of common sense.

For instance, organizations like nambla, or the kkk , jihadist radical muslims, 911 conspiracists, or the deluded fools that think the moon landing was a hoax.

By allowing these lunatics to showcase their opinion, the average person who lacks the time to research issues in depth comes to the false conclusion that "the real answer" is halfway between lopsided choices.

That is how things like gay marriage have snuck in under the radar, or the widespread belief that the US government could actually perpetrate the World Trade Center attacks.

The media has given up providing discerning editorialism with moral relativism.

Frankly it is lazy to nonexistant logic, but good enough to generate TV ratings and pay the media's salaries. It probably stems from the fact that journalists are derived from humanities students who do not understand math or scientific principles, much less are able to actively function using strict logic.

Tolerance means that ultimately, people get the government and the media they deserve.

Do you have a choice? "They" probably think the same way too but nothing much either of you can do really, except to "tolerate". Sure beats the hell out of being "sick" - not a good feeling!

Yes. And how well do these people tolerate you?

I have noticed that I am expected to tolerate people who insult my morals and common sense on a regular basis. These same people have no qualms with not tolerating my judeo-christian ethic.

Yes. I see no reason why anyone should tolerate bullies.

I can't stand when people feel sorry for vicious murderers-- or child molestors...

"freaks" and "sickos"? I know conservatives are extremely hard to tolerate, but you might hurt their feelings with those terms

Yes, like the tolerance toward child sex offenders. I'm sorry if you committed that sort of crime and you go near my kids, look out
