many mental health centers offer classes on coping with anxiety and phobia. Call your local mental health center, if they haven't any programs they should at least be able to refer you to one that does.
I have attended classes, and I learned skills that help me on a daily basis to cope with my anxiety disorder without meds.

First try to figure out what is the trigger(s) to your anxiety and stress. Once you figure that out, attempt to go through a situation that you will encounter only a few triggers at a time. This can help you get over the problem by proving that the certain situations aren't as bad as you make them. Also, look at your food intake. If you aren't eating heathy, it could also have an impact.

Do a form of yoga or aerobics to your favorite music...this works for me, I suffer from the same problem and do not or have ever taken meds. Good luck its going to take some consistency for you to get used to doing this to manage it.

Most stress is relieved when someone believes that they are successfully making the most of themselves and their lives. This can easily be done by involving yourself in some volenteer activity or be giving of yourself to make the most of your life.

There are no set answers to this. It is obvious that you can not relax your mind. Stick with a professional medical person for this answer.
