I have an old, battered, white dog teddy simply called "dog". He travels with me everywhere, and has done since I was young. My friends laugh about him, but "dog" is not just a reminder of home on long travels, but also doubles up as a pillow on flights. I once lost him in a hotel in Africa, and cried with joy when he was found safe and sound. Comfort items aren't just for children- everyone needs a bit of reassurance now and then.

I have a heart shaped rose quartz trinket box that I have had since I was a child. I have suffered from migraines since I was very young and have always been comforted by resting the cool surface of the box on my forehead the same way my Grandmother used to when I was younger. I got the box from her more than 30 years ago. It never fails to ease the pain.

Well a few of my toys... but my baby blanket is the biggest comfort item I had. It was a pink Strawberry Shortcake blanket. I love that thing. I still have it.

Yeah I had numerous polar bears toys, like the ones with the coca cola logo on them, I used to collect them and get them at the thrift store a lot. But the toy that meant the most was my big brother's teddy bear, apropriatley named Mr. Beary he was the bomb.

I would go under th dining room table and draw things on the underneath side of the table top, when I was upset. I'd lay under there for hours. I had forgotten all about it until I was moving furniture for my mom and I saw it... That was like my security blanket.

When I was around 3 years old, I had a square piece of red satin fabric. It was double layered and I remember being comforted when I rubbed the two layers together. It was called "pee pee"!
