This is a great site to check out local agents with links to their personal websites so you can do a little research about the best areas and browse their listings before you contact them. Once you contact somebody, they can tell you all about prices and the job market. Hopefully that is some help to you ;)

if you're going near Atlanta, you'll have to probably be 30 miles from downtown before you'll start to get more reasonable housing rates, though there are a number of communities on both the east and west sides that are booming. lots of amenities in the local area, etc. moved to west Atlanta 2 years ago and love it.
