Mmmm. Very good question....and while most of the other americans who answered this got offended, I merely choose to shrug it off. I do read the whole question. I do pay attention. I do not even look at the question unless I intend to give a well thought out answer. It's one thing when the person asking the question is being deliberately silly. Then I will respond in kind. But if the question is asked with sincerity, then that is what I give.
Sorry you seem to have had a bad run with americans. I could say that brits are stuffy, bland, dispassionate and rude. But that would be generalizing and that is a sign of a weak mind.

Because the majority of Americans are either lazy or dumb. If they see a question longer than two sentences, they tend not to read / answer it correctly.
Other people who answer questions incorrectly do so because they don't actually give a shlt what the answer is, they just want the points that Yahoo! give for answering questions.
Oh, and don't get me wrong; there are SOME smart Americans out there - they just don't seem to use Yahoo! Answers.

I'm American, very proud of it, well-educated, and I always read the questions. I would agree that many people do not read the questions word-for-word; however, that fault is not limited to American users of Yahoo Answers. I also wonder how it is you feel that you can magically deduce which people on here are American and which are not (unless they tell you). For someone who seems to harbor an intense dislike of Americans, you sure spend an awful lot of time talking about us. What country are you from? I'd be willing to bet it's a country we Americans consider our friends. I'm proud of my country and happy to notice that time-after-time the haters (such as you) on here, are NOT American.
Edit: Zulu9: I read the question and I stand by my answer. Instead of attempting to answer a question which is impossible to answer, I took the opportunity to return some of the animosity you have repeatedly shown. Who (specifically), or what, has made you so full of hatred? As far as an actual answer to your question goes, you do not deserve one. I did not misread your question. You do not treat others with respect and, therefore, you do not deserve answers to your questions.

Because Americans, in particular, can't spell English words properly, therefore, perhaps they misunderstand the questions more than others.
