Election and "representational government" as we know it, is quite obsolete and unneccessary, inasmuch as we are capable of much more "self-government" and much less dependent on centralized guidance. We may daily participate and be "represented" by virtue of the internet, though we are currently contacted rarely except in solicitation of our votes. It is NOT rational to confirm someone for office, for 'public service' merely on the coincidence of opinions, yours and theirs. The person to elect is the one who says: "Sure, I have an opinion on this or that issue, but my opinion does not matter, neither does the majority opinion in my district dictate nor sway, if I fail to DAILY present all your opinions before the legislature, if I fail to bring all your DAILY concerns into the debate." These are but two examples of the criteria we must demand be met, or we will get the "government" we deserve. Our Democratic Republic is but a "Pirate Democracy" as is, so the qualities we must more than 'expect' are those of Truth and Dignity expressed with wisdom and restraint. The fateful undelivered words of JFK's intended Dallas speech, in Time Magazine, Nov. 28th, 1963, "Watchman on the Walls" should be read again, publicly now, as a guide for that "choice".

To abide by the terms of his (or her) oath of office--to "faithfully execute the office of President of the United States," and to the best of his/her abilities "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." That's the least anybody can expect the President to do. We all of course, have our reasons for supporting one candidate or another, but in the end, the oath is the only thing that matters.

Same as any other servant.
Do what he's told.
The Constitution was written by THE PEOPLE and then the government was hired to DO WHAT IT SAYS.
Anything else is treason and should be punished by death by hanging at the nearest intersection as prescribed in the Constitution itself.
