If the world of questions were just black and white, then 'yes' and 'no' would be the answers. But there is a place that is considered a "Gray Area". This area always needs explanation. Every person and their situation falls in to a unique category. Then yes or no, is not a good enough response.

Depends who I'm talking to, what about, what the situation is and whether it requires more than a yes or no answer.

perhaps- cos you may not have time. That's what i always say. Cos i'd like to even if i don't and i don't want to say no so i say perhaps, maybe or we'll see. That's very good and vague and normally people accept that as an answer until they get to know you!
