I'm a single man, and have been told that the women dress for the women. Really? I cound say "and they undress for the men", true , but isn't this saying that men don't notice or care what a woman wears? If so, it sounds a little insulting to us guys out here. I sure as hell notice. -- Rat

I dress for myself, though my dress style is feminine, so it would appeal to men.

A lot of women do dress for other women to compete or look trendy, but they are insecure.

A single woman who has a crush on a guy or is looking for a bf, is more likely to dress for men, but then again, if it's a tshirt and jeans girl, she may not make much effort.

A woman that is in a relationship could dress for: herself/ her partner / other women/ to flirt with other men. Some women that are in relationships, no longer feel the need to make an effort, sadly.

A woman that has low self esteem and loves attention from men ie tarty girls will dress to attract men but in the wrong way.

We do know that you notice what we wear but if we are not interested in you/ taken/ not looking for a relationship, we will not be trying to attract that kind of attention from other guys.

Women dressing for women is usually for the purpose of trying to look better than other women. And it is true that men don't notice things as much as women do, including what they wear. It's because of a trait women have, they're more in tune to things than guys are, they notice things more easily which is why when a woman gets her hair done...sometimes the guy doesn't notice and I've had this happen before.. It's the same as this...When a woman makes a certain facial expression other women can pick up on it and can tell if she's annoyed, angry or happy. When you try this with a guy they can't read things as well, or descern which emotion is being portrayed. It's not a sexist trait or saying...it's just how we're all made.

I think women dress for the attention - both from men and women. We all want approval from both - it's sad but true. Nothing makes a girl's day like when she is wearing her favorite outfit.. and hearing her girlfriends say "Wow you look great today" then later.. a cute guy checks her out or asks for her number.. sorry girls.. let's be honest. We love that!!! Yeah!

Women dressing for women simply means that they are dressing to feel comfortable and look good for themselves, not for guys. Don't be insulted.

Actually, women dress to impress. I personally dress for myself, so i feel good about expressing my style. I dress for my peers, its kind of a friendship starter. (whose gonna wanna make friends with you if you dress like a goth who hates the world??) I dress for guys to impress them to promote my friendship circle and maybe more.

I have never dressed for the other 'women' out there, I dress for 'me'-- I wear what I feel sexy and beautiful in, never to pander to what anyone else thinks. ;o)
