You can have the threads re-tapped to a larger size, or a time-sert or heli-coil installed.

If it's a four stroke, the person doing the work will have to be extremely careful not to get aluminum filings inside the engine - if they do, an oil leak will be the least of your troubles.

I strongly recommend that you take it to a qualified mechanic to have the work done. It's an easy thing to mess up, then you will have to buy new cases.

From now on, install a new crush washer and use a torque wrench when tightening the drain bolt - don't over-torque it. That's what caused the problem.

You could rethread the oil pan with a "Heli-Coil". They look like a "slinky" toy. You drill out the old threads, tap the hole and install the heli-coil insert. You can then use the same oil drain bolt,
The oil pan is thin so there will only be about 4-5 threads. A better repair would be with a "Keen-Sert". They're made of hardened steel and look like a hollow bolt. Threads on the outside and threads on the inside. Drill and tap the oil pan. Install the keen-sert. You now have a threaded hole and can use the original bolt. The threads are solid steel with no chance of stripping like soft aluminum.

you can rethread the hole and put a bigger plug in its place. your local auto or bike parts store will have what you need. it should be less than $20.00.
