Sounds like the symptoms of a yeast infection,
BUT,
You could be red and irritated from intercourse and the discharge may be a normal part of your cycle (usually occurs during ovulation).
It could possibly be an STD.
You need to see a physician who can actually physically assess you. That's the only way to properly diagnose and treat your problem. PLEASE do not self treat until you see a physician, you could cause yourself more problems. Even if it is in fact a yeast infection and he gives you monistat, you are better off being safe then sorry. Until treatment, abstain from sex.

Congratulations, you have a bacterial vagnitius! The only way for it to go away is to get antibotics, but since you refuse to go to the doctor, have fun suffering! EDIT: Just to clarify, if you had a yeast infection, it would just itch and your vagina/clitoris would be red. The discharge would be white and chunky and there is light or no odor. BV is painful, non stop itchy madness. The discharger is funky colored and it smells pretty bad. You could be allgeric to spermicide, that brought on my first and only BV. Hopefully it's that and not an STD! EDIT: Please do NOT buy any over the counter treatment. You do not have a yeast infection, they are not painful! The chemicals will actually make it worst. To ease the pain and itchiness you can use plain no sugar yogurt as a cream, believe me it'll help. Regular yogurt will not work and make it more painful! You can try shoving a fresh clove of garlic in there, if it IS a yeast infection, then it'll go away within 3 days using garlic. If not...

yes it is a yeast infection, and if you had sex with your boyfriend in this condition, shame on you!!!
It is easily treated with Monistat, which you can get at your local drugstore. use as directed and abstain from sex until you are healed. You may have transferred the yeast to him, suggest he treat once by applying the cream to his penis.
Doubt you "caught" it from anyone. Women normally carry yeast in their vaginas and it is not a problem, but illness, stress, antibiotic use can cause the other normal bacteria that keep yeast under control to die, then you get an overgrowth of yeast and you experience the nasty symptoms you describe. Use the Monistat, for at least five days and abstain from sex during that time.

Ok...don't worry about what the RN says...you shouldn't feel bad. In fact, he could have given it to you because men can carry it without showing any outward signs of it. Very common problem. It sounds like a yeast infection. Stay off all forms of sugar, bread, fruit juices, starches, vinegar, alcohol. Eat plenty of vegetables. Supplement your diet with acidophilus powder and capsules.
You can kill yeast with grapefruit seed extract and Pau de Arco herb. Oh...and wear breathable clothing. Heat exacerbates the problem so abstain from sex for awhile. The red that you describe doesn't sound like anything I've ever heard of.

You may have a yeast infection, you can get something over the counter until you get to the doctor. Don't wait to long though
