how much does the doctor get paid through medicaid? lets say with either natural delivery or c-section. is the doctor happy or should i be scared that my dr could pass of my delivery to another dr in some way? should i pay him to suppliment the difference to get best care?

Usually the problem with Medicaid is getting a doctor to take you on as a patient. Most doctors only want so many Medicaid clients. When I delivered my son I was on Medicaid and I don't remember having any problems with my doctor.
Even standard insurances do not pay the full amount of doctor and hospital bills. If the doctor accepts medicaid then they know and accepted what they will get paid.
You should never have to pay a supplement to get best care. If a doctor accepts you as a patient they should give you the best care no matter what your insurance otherwise that would be discrimination.

Medicaid insurance doesn't get to choose how much they pay the doctor, the doctor sends them the bill and then they cover it. I wouldn't worry about the doctor passing up your delivery or about trying to pay the doctor extra. Most doctors have a set amount they charge for specific amounts of time or procedures, and these charges are agreed upon for what's right between doctors and insurance companies.

DON'T WORRY. Dr's no what they are doing, they don't just abandon someone, just feel confident that your doctor will deliver, and if he doesn't he will have a logical explanation. Most Dr's get attached to there pregnant patients, they don't want to miss it for anything. just relax.

I was on Mass Health (low income insurance) and my doctor treated me just like any paitent paying him co pays...the only reason I had another doctor deliver my last son..My doctor...was on vacation...and Joey just wouldn't wait!!

alot of doctors like medicaid patients because the guaranteed full payment, with insurance not always because they have their limits.
