no.. you should never feel insignificant. I beleive every person has a purpose whether they know it or not...they may never know why but they are here for a reason. Remember it only takes one person to make a difference and one person to change the world.

Think of the number of people that have already existed in the past, and add those to the future. Wow. Just think of how all those people feel. Each of us in some way has felt insignificant at times, especially when you look up at the stars and see the zillions and zillions and know that certainly there are even more humans in some far and distant Galaxy.

But you know what, we each have a part in the universe, we each are here for a purpose, and that purpose may not be reveled to us right now, but it will in time. Every living human today, is part of every living human on earth today and those of the past and yes, those yet to come. It is so important that each of us are part of this grand whole and know this in our hearts of hearts.

There is someone that you are their world, and you are never insignificant to them. There is someone that you feel is important and means a great deal of, this is why friendships and love for our brothers/sisters is important. You have meaning and I have meaning together we amount to a lot more than we can ever imagine.

salute!!

jeez join the club, we had jackets made. I feel insignificant all the time, it's impossible not to. Every time I pass a cemetery, or a hospital all i can think is there's all the people who came before me, or where all the people that come behind me are being born. How do you not feel like you're tiny and you make no difference. I get that really well considering I just moved to a new school and I sit there and go, why am I hear, they can live without me.

I'm a 100% sure that at someone point in every ones life they feel insignificant.

This reminds me of a part from one of Douglas Adams' Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy books.

In the book, there is a desolate planet where nearly all lfie forms have become extinct, and the civilization had long failed. Here on this planet is where this machine that kills people is housed. The victim walks into a closet-looking room, and is suddenly shown how small and isignificant they are compared to the inifinte spans of the universe. This is too much for the mind to handle, and they die. Of course, when Zaphod walked in, he came out fine because he was, in fact, the most important thing in the universe. The torture chamber just served to renew his sense of selfishness!

Actually, we live in a world of some 6.2-3 billion people, and no, I do not feel insignificant. Put it this way.......I believe we each carry within us a bit of the universe that has existed, that does exist, and that will exist, so how could any of us possible feel anything but a sense of wonder? The bits are small in of themselves, but together they add up to a very large force in our world. Each one of us is unique in some way either in large ways or in smaller, more ethereal ways. Our individual biochemistry alone is unique to each of us, then add in thought processes etc., and you see what I'm getting at. So celebrate your uniqueness, and live life as close to it's full potential as you can, it's a great ride...... and we only go round once, so be who you can be, do what you can do, and lead a life well-lived.

Sometimes when I look up at the Milky Way & see the billions & billions of stars, and realize that we on earth are just a minute spark in the universe, I feel that way.

But then I realize that I am unique. That noone & nothing has my exact DNA. That God loves me (& all of us) so much that not only are each of us unique, but that each fingerprint on each of our hands - ten to a person - is unique and belongs only to us. The Iris of our eyes - two to a person are unique - noone but us has them. Our particular combination of intellect, emotions, abilities, skills, creativity, soul belongs to each of us alone.

God loves us so much that there is noone else like each of us. So that makes me wonder at the awe of that fact and that if I am that important to God, then I must respect, love, and appreciate myself and each & every human on earth.

Yay G-d. Many many thanks & awe at the wonder of it all.

Yes it is a humbling thought. Yet when you observe a group of babies it is astonishing to discover that even at the youngest age each one has a distinct personality. The truth is we are all significant, no one more than another.

Yeah well, I think you're not the only person who feels that way, actually in a world full of people we all feel really lonely, and I believe for the same reasons.

Nope, I know I'm destined to rule them all with a ring forged from the fires of Mordor.

Like stars in the sky, we burn. Some seem to burn brighter than others but are really just more distant.
