Why wouldn't a tv be allowed in the bedroom?
Does it interfere with your quality of sleep?
If you feel it's ruining your quality of sleep then get rid of it.
If not then I'd say it's ok but not to be used on a regular basis.
Sometimes it's more comfortable to cozy up in bed with your spouse and a DVD than it would be in a more traditional room. I understand the convienance in that.
The important thing is to turn it off before you go to sleep. It's a distraction and will keep you awake or semi awake longer than you think. This shortens actual sleep time and quality of sleep. Don't get stuck up till 1am watching late-night garbage. Turn it off and you'll probably fall asleep faster and better.

We have the same issue. I say no, it distracts me and I can't sleep or anything else that I might want to do in bed. My husband can fall asleep better with it on. Then I am left to find the remote and turn it off so I can sleep. We took it out for a while but he started sleeping in his chair in the living room, so it's back now. If I have to choose between no TV or no husband in the bedroom, I'll keep them both.

What? People actually consider this an issue? I never knew that. We have a TV in our bedroom! I love it! Especially when he is watching motorcycle stuuf in the living room, I can go in the bedroom and watch my shows! Plus we love lying in bed watching movies! If we want to have sex we turn the TV off or turn it on mute! It doesn't affect our sex life at all! That's so weird! I never thought about it as an issue!

I don't see where it would be a problem, unless it is interfering with your attentiveness toward your partner in bed. Tv can be a good way to relax and tune out before sleep, but it could also be a nice way to tune out your partner. You just have to know when to turn it off (when you're getting busy), or put it on something unobtrusive (digital cable music channels-sexy music). Nothing is a problem until you lose control over it and come to depend on it (tv in bedroom, booze, food, drama, etc).
So YES, it's ok (if you can control it).

I assume you are talking about the bedroom you share with your husband. I say no, your bedroom is your sanctuary from the rest of the world, it is also where you and your husband can flourish your romance. My fiancee talk to unwind before falling asleep if we had a tv, we may just watch that instead.

I allow it in my bedroom and when my son is old enough, he will have one in his bedroom. I see nothing wrong with it. When you just want to relax in bed and no one is around, it's wonderful to curl up under the blanket and watch t.v., if you don't feel like reading. Plus it's a good way to cure insomnia.

having a tv in the bedroom cuts your sex life in half!!! So i say don't do it. And as for kids bedrooms, it isn't necessary. TV shouldn't be the center of your lives. I recommend 1 tv in the house in the family room or something..and thats it!

having a T.V. in the bedroom is good because it gives people time to relax before going to bed, They are in bed so they are comfortable. and being with a loved one is a way to be able to snuggle and be together . watching same show is great. its not the same watching t.v.in another room . laying together in bed is just plain wonderful.. if it has a sleep timer set it for what time you want it to shut off.

Yes I do think they should be allowed. I am very tired when I get home from work and sometimes I just want to lay in my bed and watch some TV. It's also great to wake up in the morning turn on the news and check the weather out. I need to know what to wear :)
