Make sure you tell them it is for safety so they know where you are at all times. This is a big reason most kids get a cellphone. It should be helpful.

Well Cellphones can get expensive, I haven't yet had a phone bill less than $60 on a contract phone.. haha, my best bet is to go with a prepaid phone, that way one-it's a limited amount per month, and you still get to talk on weeknights and weekends, I'd hold off on the razor, and if you can get a cellphone, do it, I hate using pay phones, and it's awesome if your far away from a phone, it's really conveinent, and they can reach you at any time but I'd go with a pre-paid...so much cheaper, and you can remind them that it's only so much per month.. goodluck!

Be a responsible person. Prove you can be relied upon. If they get you a phone but it's not one you were hoping for, be appreciative anyway because not everyone is able to get their kids the newest and most expensive items.

Prove to them that you're responsible enough to have one - and don't expect a $300 phone from your parents. Be grateful if you get a $50 phone.

If you have money then get a pre-paid phone. That way, you will only use what you paid for and your parents won't have to worry about over-charges.
