I have been working in my chosen profession for almost 10 years and want t go back to school full time to earn my MBA. The challenge is I can not afford not to work. Does anybody have any suggestions for a single mother to keep a float while she goes back to school? I would even work on the weekends.

It depends on how much you need to make. Retail positions are generally pretty good because you can work around your class schedule, but they don't pay much

You may also be able to teach at your university. This will not interfere with your class shedule, but they money is probably not any better than working retail. Also, some universities will cover your tuition if you work as a TA or a lab assistant.

At my university, a lot of grad students work in the undergrad advising office, helping undergrads prepare their class schedules. Or you could see about being a teaching assistant, like someone else mentioned. Other than that, it's just the regular jobs everyone else gets: stores, restaurants, whatever. You'll be too busy with school to work anywhere else that would allow you to work a lenient schedule.

I don't know what state you're in, but many states allow a person with a B.A. that is not in education, to earn a substitute teaching authorization. I did it, it's a 20-hr. course here. There were others in the course who are in grad school and are planning on subbing as a day job.
