Someone asked earlier about submitting a baby name that they had made up. I had never thought of doing that before even though I have a few names I have thought up that I think are pretty good. I found a website that says to submit a baby name but it says to enter the meaning of the name. Does that mean I get to make up a meaning for it? How does that work? Also, if you know of any websites where I could submit them that would be wonderful as well. Thanks!

Although every name has a meaning and what ever you have created must have a meaning. There are a few names which are constituted of two or more words in this case simply mention the words.

To submit the meaning of the name you're probably expected to do some research of the names that it is similar to or derived from and come up with a corresponding meaning.

Hi,
I don't thinjk you are supposed to make up a meaning, you need to find the real meaning, if any. If there is no meaning to the name you thought of dont worry about it! some of the most popular names have no real meanings to them they just sound nice... You can try and get the meaning of the name here:

it's a great site on baby names and their meanings, i dont know if you can submit your name but worth a try!!

Good Luck!
