I've been temping for a company for the summer and I have been told that I am going to be hired full time. I was elated, and I even have people that don't know I was hired asking me when it is going to happen. My boss was the one who was supposed to talk to me but that was close to three weeks ago.

I saw him on Friday and he said he would talk to me later today. Even my co-workers will ask "Did someone talk to you yet?" and I'd say no, and they'd be befuddled or have a concerned look on their face. He didn't talk to me today either......

Then one of my co-workers, again, said "You gotta remember he's a very busy person". I'm anxious and I'm starting to fear the worst. Should I? Or just take them at face value.....

WORRY... Temp's always get screwed... Don't consider yourself hired until you sign the paperwork...

I do not know who "told" you of impending hire. For it to be official, someone within the company who has that authority must tell you. Experience tells me that the boss is keeping his or her options open. Be prepared for anything from "you are hired " to "we will keep you on as a temp" to "we have enjoyed having you work here, call us in the future." Good luck.

Best to wait it out, no since in rocking the boat, as its only hearsay, until you hear it yourself.

If you really like the job, keep excelling and doing your best, but if your not pressed, then keep your options open, and start looking.

Either way, your still in a win win situation.
Don't loose your head or your manners... by getting gun ho now.

I say hang in there, if they were going to cut you, they would most likely have done it, and so, you are probably going to get moved up, but maybe they just lost an account or something, and there is a delay? KEEP SMILING! :)

Hang in there! If they are not going to offer you full time then proceed to the next one. You'll be fine!
