My bf now dated a girl for 7 years and they have an apartment together the lease is up on the 30. She says she wants the furniture one day then says she doesnt the next he doesnt want to pay to store it if she is just going to come in one day and say OH i want the couch and table now. What is the best way to go about this?

its not the fact that we want it, they will charge him to remove it from the apartment i think and we dont want to have to pay that. and we dont want to pay for storage then her come back 2 months and 200 bucks later and say oh i want my stuff.

They should write out an agreement and both sign it saying who gets what and thats THAT!

If they are not married and don't have receipts for the purchases then it's up for grabs! They have a common law marriage where I live, but it really depends on each state. The closer it gets to moving out, the more stuff is going to disappear.

Each should take what they brought into the relationship. For the things they bought together, assuming at least one person wants it, they should set a value and the person who wants it should pay the other for their share.

the break up rules clearly sate that the woman is entitled to the furniture, although if she can not make her mind up in 12 days, the maan is allowed to keep the furniture
