I had one once. It lasted two years. Once we moved to the same town, it ended, sadly. But I don't think that was because of the long distance factor. I think we just weren't good for each other in the first place. But back to your question - if two people really love each other and really try to make it work, ANYTHING is possible. My parents were a long distance relationship - dad in California and mom in Missouri. And they ended up getting married and have now been married for 36 years. How's that for inspiration? :) Good luck.

My boyfriend and i met when i was 12, he was 13. We met at my school and that summer he moved to another school. He's moved once more since then to the actual town that his school is in. I grew up around that town so it might be different in this case but anway, now i am 15 and hes 16 and we've almost hit 3 years. We're still faithful and i think anyone can do it if they really think they love eachother. Good Luck.

Yes.
But you have to be really in love, and willing to sacrifice.
We made it work, been married over 30 years now, he was a soldier in Vietnam and we wrote to each other and I waited for him. It was so romantic! So much yearning for one another, my little sisters got into my saved letters and used them as fodder for future teasing. He came home and we were married immediately and I got pregnant right away, he had no job and I had quit school to move onto the army base. We were so in love...
He was a big dummy, no class, bad upbringing, but so movie star handsome, absolutely gorgeous!! Now he is a dirty old man, still a dummy, some class, and some manners and the looks have faded. So be careful, you gotta love the inner man, not the facade.

I knew a woman in college who waited 5 years for her man to leave the airforce, and she remained always faithful to him. When he returned, it was less than two months and they split.
Long distance relationships can work only of both parties agree to terms, and stay true to their world. ....rare.

It can work if there is a defined date by which the two people will be back together, and both people have agreed to stay in the relationship/

I have had several, and no they did not work. However, it really wasn't because of the distance. A lot depends on your age, your patience, and the love you have for one another. Hopefully you will still be able to see each other often. Good luck!

Sure it *can* work. My wife and I were apart except for occaisional weekends for 4 years. No unfaithfulness known on my part and I feel quite confident none at all.
It can be hard to be apart though - found other parts than faithfulness to be the most bother and/or pain.
