SHould the loud mouth republican conservatives enlist and then see how their idol works?

I get so sick of people who are too cowardly to enlist or serve call me a traitor for disapporving of GWB and his war against the people who did not attack us while those that did, the Saudi's and Bin Ladden remain unpunished! I am a veteran, I went to war in Viet Nam, was wounded and am disabled, yet I work and pay taxes, while half of the snot nosed kids and wannabe conservatives are still at home living off of my taxes or mom & dad, and Ruth if you answer leave a contact address please, as you must be a fake aaas no one is that dumb

Bless you, and thank you for your service. I served in the Army but not in the infantry (motor pool chick - 52D10). Say whatever you want--you so much more than anyone, have earned that right.

I appreciate your services for your country. Having never served in the military in a time of war, I cannot imagine how difficult that must have been. Also I'm sure that gives you an insight into the politics of war. Having served in Vietnam did you support the goals and implementation of that war? What was your perspective of those back at home who were campaigning for you to die? Did you see how that effort back in the US helped or hurt the enemy?

While I certainly think every US citizen has a right to express an opinion on US policy, I think we need to be careful to restrict our conduct when expressing that policy so as not to give aid and comfort to our enemy. I don't think a patriot would do something whose net result would help our enemy kill US military personal.

As of a recent article I read (I am sorry I cannot recall it was probably in Drudge) it cited how much our country is moving AWAY from service to the nation...ROTC is being removed from campus', Now our legislators rarely have military experience (or their family members. There was a time when this was untrue, that those who were NOT in the Military were the "odd men out"....it is a shame....
I do believe it should be a regular part of the "educational system", make ROTC mandatory, make enlistment for at least 1-2 years mandatory (or some form of service to our country)...I believe this could only strengthen our country. I may have not liked it, but in hindsight it sure would have done me a world of good.

You can be a conservative or Republican and still hate the evil Neo-conservatives. Why enlist to fight a war that the Israelis should be fighting?

But, there is a big difference between not approving of W or the Neocons and being a liberal. Liberalism is a defeatist philosophy.

The great majority of enlisted men and woman are conservatives.

So why did you go into a country when they did not attack us (vietnam?)

The applications for military enlistment have been at an all time high since the war in Iraq.
