I have dismantled a whole keyboard to clean it. The main need is to keep the keytops in the right order!
Once it's in pieces you can wash and dry it.
But the idea of easing the sticky key out is a good one just make certain you lift it evenly.
Maybe a keyboard cleaner spray would be helpful or you can get a new keyboard for £6.00 if it all goes pear shaped!

It really depends on what kind of keyboard you have. On some, it's easy to pop out a key, get a q-tip and some distilled water and clean it. But others require a bit more attention. If you aren't comfortable with doing any of this, DO NOT GO THROUGH ALL THIS because you'll end up spending a lot of time trying to fix it and you'll end up having to buy a replacement keyboard anyway. Whatever you do, make sure you unplug your keyboard first. You may be able to save your keyboard if you can unplug it after you spill something on it because it's when there is a current going through the circuits that ruins keyboards. Try to get as much of the liquid out of the KB that you can. You want to work on a flat, clean surface. Ideally, you want it to also be static free, but that's not always available.

If you want to try the pop-out-a-key method, get a small flat head screwdriver and apply a little pressure and it should pop out easily. If it doesn't, don't force it. You'll have to unscrew the back. Remove all the screws (you'll probably need a small philips screwdriver for this) and carefully remove the back cover. You should see something that looks like a clear or transluscent plastic sheet with some metallic circuits printed on it. This should be somewhat attached to a very small circuit board that is usually in the upper right corner (upper left when you're looking at it from the bottom with the back off). This is usually connected by a couple of small screws, but depending on what you're doing, you may be able to just leave this where it is. The clear sheet is actually three sheets, usually attached together with the top and bottom sheets etched with the metallic circuits, the middle completely blank. Inspect this to make sure that it is not wet, doesn't have any coffee or coke or whatever it is that you spilt on it. you can clean this with distilled water or alcohol. When you lift this up from the keyboard, you may see a few different things... there may be a rubber sheet of round indentions or there may be a bunch of little rubber "nipples" sitting on the top of the keyboard. If you have the latter, be careful as to not misplace any of these. If you're just going to be cleaning whatever is sticky, locate the sticky key and clean the rubber part with distilled water or alcohol. If you have the "rubber nipple" type of keyboard, you may need to use your little flat head screwdriver to pry the key out of place from the opened back. Once you do that, clean the plastic parts... make sure it's dry before you put it back together. Carefully replace everything as it was. Make sure the contacts on the plastic sheet lines up with everything before you screw the bottom back on. Once it's all put together, plug your keyboard back in and see how it works. If it doesn't work, you probably forgot to do something, so go back over your steps.

This should teach you a "Valuable Lesson" Never drink near a PC. It can cost you $$$$.

1. you can try to fix the issue by popping out the letter and cleaning it.
2. you can go out and buy a water-proof keyboard
3. you can go out and buy a new machine that does not require a keyboard and lets you just think of what you want to type and it will type it without the use of a keyboard or mouse. (email if you want to know what it is...)

Ok so you spilt something on in your keyboard, this is what you must do. First get the tool box because i am going to save you from buying a new keyboard. Ok open your tool box and take out a screwdriver it depends on the type of screws holding your keyboard together. Take out every screw. Ok now that is done you will need to go outside with your keyboard. Once outside get your hose. Once that is done turn it on. Wash everything clean. Get everything soaking wet. Once that is done you will need to get a hammer and a crowbar. Now Take your keys and pry them out with your crowbar and hammer dont be gentle. Once they are out you need to get them full of dirt. It is to get rid of the gunk on your keys. Once that is done you will need to wash them clean. You are almost done. The next step is too rinse off all your keys. One cone take your hammer and bash your keys back into the keyboard. After that is complete put everything back together and you are done reattatch it back to your pc and you are done. Your keyboard is brand new and i have saved you $20.

Nail varnish remover! It works for so many different things! Rub a little bit on the key with a piece of cloth! That should work!

Just a j cloth that is barely damp will do it, or you can use a screen wipe, or isopropyl alcohol from the chemist on a cotton bud.

believe it or not put the sucker in the dishwasher, and make sure it's completely dry before you plug it back in. At my last workplace this type of accident was common and we put them in the dishwasher and set them aside for the next drink incident.
