Yes you can. Both Sirius and XM have certain radios that are just like regular boomboxes that are for the home. If you get one, it will come with an antenna that needs to be pointed south (for XM, im not sure about Sirius antennas) Look at www.xmradio.com or www.sirius.com for information on the radios.

There are many models designed for home use. Before you waste your money on XM, however, check out the channel lineups at sirius. You will find commercial-free music of all types, comedy, sports, talk and a bunch more. XM can't boast commercial free music.

You can absolutely get XM without having it in your car--they sell the home adaptors/units seperate from the automotive ones. There is more info on the XM web site or you can also get your questions answered at Radio Shack or Circuit City stores

xm does have commercial free music. some channels have commercials, but only a few. in fact, both sirius and xm are currently tied for number of channels with commercial free music. also, xm's hardware is better.
but if you want to hear the same songs over and over, definitely get sirius.

Yeah you just buy the home kit and the portable thing and get the service. Plus if you do get a car later you just have to buy the car kit.

Yes, you can, call Best Buy or one of the stores that sell it and ask. I get it for free on DirecTV, my speakers are hooked up to the TV and its great. To get it yourself you have to have a receiver and pay a monthly subscription fee.
