What would you like to become if you wanted to change your life circumstance and it only took the time it takes for a butterfly to go from egg to pupa and then break out of its cacoon?

Wow, I see so many possibilities. Perhaps as a beam of coloured light, now freed to look for another beam of the same kind, my so rare very own kind; forming a world of one, by two.

Well, I don't know that you learn much from just metamorphosing instantly. I think you have to go through struggles to learn the lessons of life properly.
But I'd like to be a bird of prey. Or an alligator, maybe. Or a dragon.
I kept caterpillars for an entomology class project and watched them eat and scamper around and grow and then pupate and hatch--it was absolutely wonderful. I totally recommend it (but be sure you know just what to feed the little suckers!) Very rewarding to have my own little nature show in a plastic container. Yay, butterflies!
