Go to the pharmacy & let them know your needs...age, weight, symptoms, safety precautions, etc. There is probably some thing there for your infant...also READ LABELS! I don't don't think suggesting a bit of honey for his throat (very soothing & safe) would be irresponsble either & he'll love ya for it ! Good luck & love to you & your beautiful child!

Tylenol has a new product for infants
it is Tylenol plus Cold. the dosing is the same as reg tylenal for babys and it says for sore throats right on the package.

Do NOT give your baby honey under any circumstances. He/she could end up with botulism, which is fatal in infants.
Botulinum spores are found widely in soil, dust, and honey. Adults who swallow botulinum spores are almost never affected. When infants swallow the spores, however, the spores can germinate in their immature gastrointestinal tracts and begin producing botulinum toxin. This has occurred even when the honey was only used to sweeten a pacifier (European Journal of Epidemiology, Nov 1993).

Ask your pediatrician what is safe for your baby. It's possible that Infants Tylenol or Infants Motrin are OK, but ASK YOUR DOCTOR FIRST. Usually you can call your doctor's office even during off hours to get answers to question like this.

Are you serious? You should be asking a doctor not anyone on this site. Babies are very limited to what they can take as far as medicine goes. And how do you know he/she has a sore throat? CALL YOUR DOCTOR.

How can you tell if a 5 monthold has a sore throat? Take her to the doctor for a check and get something for the problem.

My son just got over a cold and the doctor told me to give him triaminic. Also what really helps when they have a sore throat is really cold formula or milk. Don't warm it up just give it to them cold!
There is a web site that I visit to get the dosage on alot of diffierent kinds of medicine for babies like tylenol, motrion, triaminic, dimetapp and pedicare just to name a few. Its great and it starts at 11 lbs!

Under six months old, best to take them to the doctor. Over the counter medications given to a child that age could mask other, more serious symptoms.

take her / him to the Dr. you can't take just anyones advice especially someone you don't know. You have no idea who is on the other end answering your questions, what if some idiot told you to do something that could really hurt your baby.
