I was born and raised in Texas so I'm partial to it. I've been all over the country for either work or leisure. However, there is nothing quite like Texas. The reason why I say that is because we have a very moderate climate throughout the fall, winter, and spring months. I would suggest bringing some long sleeve shirts, but you will definately be able to walk outside with shorts and a t-shirt on during the middle of the day. San Antonio is known for it's wonderful mexican food and the riverwalk. I would suggest going to a restaurant right off the Riverwalk for a great night on the town. And you can also check out Seaworld if you'd like to.

It's warm right now... cooling off just enough to not be unbearable, with a light breeze. I just moved here and these are some of the fun things I've liked doing- go to the Riverwalk, there's a shopping center on one end and the walk is mostly restaurants but it's really pretty and it'll be nice since it's not so hot right now... Six Flags Fiesta Texas was really really fun, bring a bathing suit since they have a water park section. It's fairly expensive (I think it was around 40 dollars a person) but it was worth it... Sea World was a little boring at first since there's not as many rides as Six Flags, but their shows are really fun. If you go there save the Seal Show for last and don't miss it! It's the best and funniest once you've seen the others. And the Shamu show is great too, fun for kids and adults, get in early and get a close seat to get wet. (it was expensive too, but I can't remember how much)... other than that the State Parks are really nice, usually there's a river of some kind to play in... and there's places to go rock climbing too but you'll have to look that up.

Have fun on your trip!

It's a decent sized city with lots to do. October shouldn't be to bad still warm but not sizzling (for natives anyway) so bring some shorts and things like that. There are shops and restaurants, plenty of bars, zoo and of course the river walk and the Alamo. one thing I always hear from non-Texans are the people are friendly, you should like it here, most people do.

With the exception of Riverwalk {it should be a crime to call this a river], which is very expensive and a standard torist trap, San Antonio sucks!! Go somewhere else, ANYWHERE; you be glad you did.
